Lee Loncasty (13 April 1959 - 18 April 2003)
This is a page in memory of Lee. These photographs are the best of the
rather sparse record I have of her. They are in approximately
chronological order.
The last time I saw Lee was 19-20 April 2000. Almost exactly three
years before her last jump.
The first time I met her was in the Spring of 1985, when I was
considering moving to Bristol and working for HP - Lee made it
seem an even more attractive place. By Autumn I'd joined HPLabs and was
working alongside her. She had recently married Rod and was then called
Lee Boswell. At that time I was called Caroline Knight. My birthday is
October 13th so we used to
celebrate our half-birthday whilst the other celebrated her actual
birthday. I haven't found any usable party photos.
Here she is at a pub lunch with some of the department (sorry about the
wonky montage - it was necessary to avoid mostly everyone else being
blurry whilst Lee was smiling!)
From left to right: Lee, Rick, Lindsay, Chris D, ......, Anthony
We walked together, here Lee is taking a break at a lock gate somewhere
in Wales I think:
Rod cooking BBQ for us (and a few others!):
Lee and Rod moved to California. On my first trip to see them we went
ski-ing. I'm on the right.
Lee looking glamorous in her sunglasses. Rod on the right.
One time when I was over we went to the Garlic Festival, I'm on the
left:
Lee and I went to stay at Point Reyes, I think the picture of her in
the wood is from that trip, unless it was when we were visiting the
Giant
Redwoods - also Lee on her Harley
I like this one of Lee but I'm not sure where we were apart from
somewhere in California:
The last time I saw her in California she took me for a trip over SF
in a plane:
Lee moved to Australia and I got ME so I never had the energy to go and
see her out there.
She married Dave Loncasty who had moved out there with her from
California.
I didn't get to her wedding.
In Decemeber 2000 I married Jim and became Caroline Randell. She didn't
get to our wedding either.
